6747-2 Typewriter with the familiar advanced electronic
technology.
The design of this typewriter has been enhanced to allow
consistency with the entire New Family of IBM typewriters. The

6747-2 Typewriter with the familiar advanced electronic
technology.
The design of this typewriter has been enhanced to allow
consistency with the entire New Family of IBM typewriters. The
cover, power supply, key cover, and shaded functional keys have
been redesigned to offer one exciting family of IBM typewriters.
OPTIONS
No Option Available. Previously announced options for the 6747-2
will not be supported by the 6784.
PUBLICATIONS
The IBM 6784 Typewriter Operator's Guide has been designed for
ease of use. This small book is organized by basic and advanced
functions. The reference section of the Operator's Guide also
includes IBM Typestyles and Applications as well as alternate
language keyboard information for improved customer satisfaction.
The following Publications are shipped with the product.
Additional copies should be bulk ordered through EMD the first
month of each quarter with a minimum total order quantity of 50.
Emergency situations will be handled separately. These
Publications should be sold at a price.

PLANNING INFORMATION
CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES
The IBM 6784 Typewriter is Customer Set-Up.
SUPPLIES
The IBM 6784 Typewriter is supported by the previously announced
IBM EASYSTRIKE (R) Supplies and two new correctable ribbons. The
two new ribbons are replacing the IBM EASYSTRIKE Correctable
Cassette (P/N 1337761) which is being withdrawn from Marketing.
IBM recommends that dealers consider selling their existing
inventory of P/N 1337761 to their previous 6746, 6747, 6780 IBM
Typewriter customers before converting them to the new ribbons.
NEW RIBBON DESCRIPTIONS
o IBM EASYSTRIKE Superior Write Correctable Ribbon Cassette (P/N
1380999)
A high quality correctable film ribbon for executive
correspondence and for bolder, darker print. This ribbon is also
recommended for difficult-to-image papers such as 100% cotton,

textured papers and most labels. The ribbon has a purple leader
and advance wheel and is available in black only. The average
yield is 115,000 characters but the actual yield varies depending
on the pitch of the typestyle in use.
o IBM EASYSTRIKE High Yield Correctable Ribbon Cassette (P/N
1299845)
A long-life correctable film ribbon for clean, general
correspondence and excellent price performance. This ribbon is
the economical alternative to the Superior Write ribbon. The
ribbon has an orange leader and advance wheel and is available in
black only. The average yield is 210,000 characters, but the
actual yield varies depending on the pitch of the typestyle is
use.
RECOMMENDED ORDER QUANTITIES
Both the IBM EASYSTRIKE Superior Write and High Yield Ribbons are
available immediately. Initial orders for these new ribbons
should be limited to the equivalent of one average month's sales
of the previous IBM Easystrike Correctable Ribbon (P/N 1337761).

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
OFFERING
o Purchase, under the Agreement for Purchase/Sale of IBM
Products.
o Volume Purchase, under the Agreement for Purchase of IBM
Typewriters - Volume Procurement. This machine type is added to
the IBM Typewriter Volume Discount Schedule Category I.
WARRANTY: 3 Months.
If purchased under the IBM Agreement for Purchase/Sale, Warranty
Service will be performed under IBM's Repair Center service
options as stated in the Customer Service Information Bulletin
which forms part of the Agreement.
All service options announced as available under the Maintenance
Agreement (see paragraph MAINTENANCE OFFERINGS) are available at
Customer discretion and without additional charge during the
warranty period.
MAINTENANCE OFFERINGS
IBM offers maintenance services as follows:
o IBM Maintenance Agreement in conjunction with the IBM Service/
Exchange Repair Center Amendment.
o Maintenance options
(Note: The availability of these offerings may vary by countries)
- Customer Carry-in/Mail-in Repair or Exchange.
- Courier Service.
- IBM On-Site Service.
For option 1, maintenance service is available during the normal
IBM business hours and no optional periods of maintenance service
are offered.
For options 2 and 3, optional periods of maintenance service are
available under Terms and Conditions described in the Maintenance
Agreement.
HOURLY SERVICES
The repair of defective elements not covered by warranty or a
maintenance agreement is only provided at the IBM Repair Center
on an hourly service basis.
ON-SITE ASSISTANCE
At customer's request, IBM will provide On-Site Assistance to
perform Customer Problem Analysis and Resolution (CPAR). IBM
will use the same documentation that is available to the
customer. This service is provided on an hourly basis at the
applicable hourly rates and terms and conditions.
MAINTENANCE CHARGES: Annually.
